About The San Francisco Opera Opening Gala:
Opera enthusiasts know that the San Francisco Opera Opening Gala is the start of a wonderful season of music and performance. This year’s San Francisco Event will begin with a pre-performance reception at the outdoor Loggia of the historical War Memorial Opera House. The pre-performance will take place on the outdoor balcony.
The Event will feature the famous opera Luisa Miller with music by Giuseppe Verdi and Libretto by Salvadore Cammarano. This is a beautiful Italian opera, and this opera house is prepared to offer a quality presentation and an evening of passion and sentimentality suitable to this heart rendering operatic narrative.
Verdi’s Luisa Miller is a story of a self-sacrificing daughter that lays aside her own chance for love to save her father’s life. Complications of forbidden love between a peasant girl and a nobleman, give two merciless men opportunity to tear the couple apart. Through Verdi’s masterful reveal of intimate and raw emotion, the twists and deceptions of this tragedy play to a mournful end.
After the performance, you will head to Jardinière restaurant for a fabulous after party. The BRAVO CLUB, San Francisco Opera’s dedicated team of in-house promoters, will host the party. The Jardinière is the perfect setting for this glamorous event. Along with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, attendees will enjoy music and dancing.
